Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab

Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab
http://www.esl-lab.com/

The website provides a lot of listening quizzes for us to practice, such as General Listening Quizzes, Listening Quizzes for Academic Purposes, 20-Minute ESL Vocabulary Lessons, Language Learning and Life Tips, and Long Conversations with RealVideo. When we choose a topic and click into the quiz, the topic of each quiz is clearly showed on the top with other information, like the level of the quiz, type of the quiz, speakers in the conversation and the length of the quiz. Each quiz mainly contains four parts: pre-listening exercises, listening exercises, vocabulary activities and post-listening exercises.
In the pre-listening exercise, it asks some questions about our former life experiences. It also gives a helpful tip to let us know something related to the quiz.
In listening exercises, you could listen to the conversation on-line or download the file in your computer to listen. Then do the exercise and submit the answers. You could also listen to the conversation again with the script. It provides the script of conversation as well as vocabulary explanation.
In vocabulary activities, there are three kinds of exercises in order to practice: Multiple-Choice and Short-Answer Questions, Mixed-up sentence and sentence and vocabulary matching.
In the last part, post-listening exercise is related to the skill of writing. It advances a question and asks for your opinion. And you could express your own thought at Randall’s ESL Blog.
